From the exquisite 1930s and 1940s Hollywood to the original bohemian chic of the 1970s. The new look of playsuits and separates we saw on AW16 -17 stands proudly next to traditional bridal silhouettes offering choice to modern day brides. Sheer fabrics are key and are used in bold statement dresses. Simple styling and detailing is also important, as well as 3D embellishments and handcrafted beadwork. Designers have truly brought a wide variety of sophistication and boldness this season.

1970s Inspired

The original Boho Chic. The iconic era of full flowing Maxi dresses, stunning organic laces with fit and flare silhouettes. The 70s trend can be as bold or as subtle as you want it to be. This look can be styled down for an outdoor, minimalistic wedding or with the use of fine silks and hand beading you can bring together the glamour and sophistication for a more luxurious affair.

Silver Screen Beauties

The golden age of Hollywood was depicted on the silver screen during the 1930s and 1940s. This period brought us decorative style within Art Deco and the modern day celebrity such as Ginger Rogers, Rita Hayworth, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly to name a few. The exquisite beauty of Hollywood can make you feel like a star on your wedding day with this distinguished trend. To give this look a modern twist add some drama with elaborate details, open backs with illusion fabrics, bold silhouettes such as mermaid and trumpet shapes or keep traditional with draped silks and fine spaghetti straps.

Effortless

Understated, simple silhouettes with delicate feminine touches. Details are simple and minimal. Clean shapes are key for this look. Silhouettes including the modern pant suit, short prom and column dresses are used for an elegant and effortless bridal look.

Lingerie Inspired

The lingerie trend leaves little to the imagination for Spring Summer 2017. The use of delicate silks, illusion and sheer fabrics with heavy beading giving us this seductive trend. Light fabrications adorned with handcrafted beadwork, corset inspired detailing and sheer draping are maybe for the more daring bride but if worn correctly can look absolutely stunning.

Organic Beauty
